{"id":87636,"date":"2026-05-18T04:08:25","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T04:08:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bisedoshqip.de\/ukraine-war-briefing-the-drones-that-bombarded-moscow-region-ukraine\/"},"modified":"2026-05-18T04:08:25","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T04:08:25","slug":"ukraine-war-briefing-the-drones-that-bombarded-moscow-region-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bisedoshqip.de\/sq\/ukraine-war-briefing-the-drones-that-bombarded-moscow-region-ukraine\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine war briefing: The drones that bombarded Moscow region | Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"\">\n<li class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The general staff of Ukraine\u2019s armed forces has reeled off a <strong>list of Ukrainian aerial weaponry<\/strong> used to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2026\/may\/17\/people-killed-in-russia-ukraine-retaliatory-strikes-moscow\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">destroy targets in the Moscow region<\/a> over the weekend, including the <strong>RS-1 \u201cBars\u201d jet-powered UAV<\/strong>, the <strong>Firepoint FP-1 winged drone<\/strong>, and a drone previously unknown to observers and analysts, dubbed the <strong>Bars-SM Gladiator<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Ukraine\u2019s SBU security service highlighted a strike on the <strong>Angstrom plant in Zelenograd, Moscow region,<\/strong> Russia, which \u201cspecialises in the production of <strong>hi-tech products and microcircuits for high-precision weapons<\/strong> \u2026 A fire was recorded on the territory of the facility. The enterprise is an important component of the <strong>Russian military-industrial complex<\/strong> and is involved in the production of microelectronics, radio electronics, optical systems, and robotics for the enemy\u2019s military needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The SBU continued: \u201cAlso in the Moscow region, the <strong>Solnechnogorskaya pumping station<\/strong> was hit, which is a critical part of the ring oil pipeline around Moscow and is used for pumping, storing and shipping large volumes of <strong>gasoline and diesel fuel, in particular for the Russian army<\/strong>. A fire was reported on the premises.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"\">\n<li class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The strikes <strong>\u201creduce the enemy\u2019s ability to continue its war\u201d<\/strong>, said the SBU. Russian authorities said at least <strong>four people were killed<\/strong> and a dozen more wounded, and reported several hits as being from \u201cdrone debris\u201d \u2013 as they frequently do to imply that drones were shot down by Russian defences instead of striking their intended targets. Early on Monday, the Russian defence ministry sought to emphasise the role of its air defences, claiming <strong>3,124 Ukrainian drones<\/strong> were shot down over the past week.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Agence France-Presse said its journalists were granted access to an <strong>undisclosed location where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/ukraine\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\">Ukraine<\/a> launched its long-range drones<\/strong> in what turned out to be one of the largest pummellings of Russia during the conflict. In his nightly address, Ukraine\u2019s president said that on Sunday, <strong>Ukrainian troops\u2019 combat operations on the battlefield outnumbered Russian ones \u2013 <\/strong>\u201ca very significant result\u201d. \u201cMuch has been accomplished this year, and a shift in the balance of activity on the frontlines is noticeable.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\"><strong>Within Ukraine<\/strong>, the SBU said, a Russian command post in the <strong>Bunge area of<\/strong> \u200b\u200b<strong>Donetsk region<\/strong> and enemy UAV control points were hit in the <strong>Dvorichnaya area of \u200b\u200bKharkiv region, Zavitne in Kherson region, and Udachne in Donetsk region<\/strong>. \u201cIn addition, Ukrainian soldiers struck enemy manpower concentrations in the areas of Myrne, Donetsk region, Krasnohirsk, Zaporizhzhia region, Volfinsky, Kursk region of the Russian Federation, as well as two concentrations of occupiers in the Novoekonomichesky district of the Donetsk region.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Over Sunday night, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/russia\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\">Russia<\/a> again attacked Ukraine with drones and missiles, targeting the <strong>southern city of Odesa as well as Dnipro in the south-east<\/strong>, Ukrainian officials said. In Odesa, drones hit residential buildings along with a school and a kindergarten, injuring an 11-year old boy and a 59-year-old man, said Serhiy Lysak, the head of the local military administration. In Dnipro, three people were injured in a missile attack, said the regional governor, Oleksandr Hanzha.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Earlier, in the <strong>Zaporizhzhia region<\/strong>, a car was hit in a Russian attack, injuring a woman and a man. In <strong>Kherson region<\/strong>, the regional prosecutor\u2019s office said a drone dropped explosives on a home, <strong>killing a man,<\/strong> while eight civilians were injured in attacks on regional cities and towns.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">A suspected Ukrainian military drone was found <strong>crashed in Lithuania<\/strong> on Sunday, the Lithuanian government\u2019s crisis management centre said. The drone was not detected when it entered Lithuania, and was <strong>not armed with explosives<\/strong>, said the chief of the centre, Vilmantas Vitkauskas. The drone was found crashed at the village of Samane, the centre said, 40km from the Latvian border and 55km from Belarus. Kyiv was yet to comment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Separately, the Latvian army said a <strong>drone alert was issued<\/strong> on Sunday morning along its border with Russia, and <strong>Nato military fighters were summoned<\/strong> to the area. One drone entered Latvia for a short time during the alert, the army said.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Since March, several stray Ukrainian drones have entered the airspace of Nato members Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia which border Russia and its ally Belarus. Kyiv has insisted the drones were <strong>aimed at military targets in Russia<\/strong> but sent off course by Russian countermeasures. The Latvian prime minister, Evika Silina, fired her defence minister after one incident, leading to the fall of her government.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The commander of Ukraine\u2019s drone forces has <strong>defended Ukraine\u2019s long-range attacks into Russia<\/strong>. In an interview with Agence France-Presse, Robert Brovdi, known as \u201cMadyar\u201d, said: \u201cThe sources of funding for Putin\u2019s war expenses \u2026 have become legitimate and priority military targets in any area, in any part of the territory of the occupying country, whether we are talking about the south, the Urals, or Siberia.\u201d The interview was given before <strong>Ukraine
