Dragon Quest 11 S details Nintendo Switch 2 frame rate and resolution
Following up on the recent announcement of Dragon Quest 11 S on Nintendo Switch 2, Square Enix provided more information including frame rate and resolution details.
The company previously confirmed that two graphical options will be included. Players can choose between different optimization modes, allowing them to prioritize graphics or performance.
When going with Performance Priority Mode, Dragon Quest 11 S has a frame rate of 60 FPS and 1080 resolution. In Image Quality Priority Mode, it’s 30 FPS at 1440p.
Square Enix didn’t touch on any differences when playing in docked and handheld modes. That said, the Nintendo Switch 2 screen maxes out at 1080p resolution.
We also have another tidbit that many fans will find disappointing. Unfortunately, you can’t transfer save data from the Nintendo Switch 1 release over to Switch 2. Given that this isn’t a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, that’s probably not too surprising.
This also means that there won’t be an upgrade path. If you purchased Dragon Quest 11 S on Nintendo Switch, you’ll need to fork over another $40. Since there isn’t any new content, we can’t see this being an appealing option for most.
