Nintendo says Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch 2 remake has “stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay”

Original: We have the tiniest bit of information about the recently-announced remake for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Nintendo Switch 2, which we’ll take given how little has been said about it so far.

Nintendo closed out the Direct this week by confirming that it’s bringing back the classic N64 game. It was a massive announcement, but fans were left wondering what exactly they can expect as the company only showed a brief teaser and said nothing about the game after that.

That brings us to today’s small update. If you search for the North American Ocarina of Time remake website online, you’ll be shown a link to Nintendo’s site and a brief description which isn’t present on the page.

It states the following:

“The N64 classic reborn as a full remake for Nintendo Switch 2. Experience Ocarina of Time with stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay.”

What might be the most important part of the description is “updated designs”. We knew that the graphics are being refreshed, but this suggests that Nintendo is going all out for the remake.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is on track to hit Nintendo Switch 2 sometime this year. You can get a look at the first trailer here.

What are you personally hoping to see out of the remake? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.

Update: Nintendo has taken down the description. If you look now, it states the following: “The Nintendo 64 classic returns for a new generation in 2026, reborn exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2!”

This may have been something Nintendo didn’t want to be included on the page so early, but that’s just us speculating. Either way, the damage has been done.
