The FVA lifts the ban on the import of live animals and poultry from Albania


The Kosovo Food and Veterinary Agency has announced that it has lifted the ban on the import of live animals and poultry from Albania. 

The FVA said in a statement that based on official reports, diseases such as sheep and goat plague and bird flu are no longer present in Albania. 

“The Food and Veterinary Agency informs the public that, based on the official reports of ADIS and WOAH, the diseases PPR – Sheep and Goat Morbus, as well as Avian Influenza (Bird Flu), highly pathogenic sterotype HPAI-H5N1, are no longer present in the territory of the Republic of Albania. Based on the Veterinary Law No. 2004/21, a decision has been made to lift the import ban and allow the import of live animals, sheep and goats and their products, as well as live poultry and poultry products, coming from the Republic of Albania”, the AUVA announced.
