US man drives a 1,000HP Batmobile in public and it goes exactly as you'd expect

For Batman fans, getting behind the wheel of the iconic Batmobile is the ultimate dream.

One US man got to do exactly that after climbing into a fully functional 1,000HP replica inspired by the 1989 movie.

The enormous custom-built machine is road-legal, turbocharged, and impossible to ignore.

Unsurprisingly, taking it out in public caused absolute chaos.

He drove a 1,000HP Batmobile in public

The unforgettable movie car drive was captured by automotive YouTuber team Daily Driven Exotics Clips, who was invited to experience the incredible machine for himself.

Built to closely resemble the Batmobile driven by Michael Keaton’s Batman, the replica is a whopping 22 feet long and packs a claimed 1,000 horsepower under its dramatic bodywork.

While the fiberglass shell was built by a specialist shop, the owner explained that the suspension, brakes, drivetrain, and other mechanical components were all completed in-house.

Despite its movie looks, this isn’t just a static showpiece.

The Batmobile is fully road legal, unlike some, and fitted with headlights, turn signals, working seat belts, heat, air conditioning, and even an automatic fire suppression system.

The owner admitted that rear visibility is almost nonexistent, so three onboard cameras are needed to safely keep an eye on traffic behind.

As soon as the huge turbocharged engine fires into life, the Batmobile announces its arrival with an unmistakable roar before heading out onto the streets.

It doesn’t take long before people begin pointing, filming, and stopping to get a closer look.

The owner even revealed that he has previously been pulled over by police officers who simply wanted to take pictures with the car.

“I got pulled over in this car by a cop just so he could take pictures with it,” he said.

Rob Dahm summed up the experience perfectly, saying that seeing the Batmobile moving down the road made him feel like a kid again.

It’s truly a headturner

Although the car boasts four-figure horsepower, the owner of the car explained that outright speed isn’t really the point, but instead, it’s about recreating the feeling of sitting inside one of the most iconic movie cars ever built.

The cockpit is surprisingly practical despite its futuristic appearance, although both driver and passenger admitted the racing seats aren’t exactly comfortable for longer journeys.

The owner also shared that he’s an emergency medicine doctor and explained that Batman has always inspired him to be prepared to help others.

He said learning emergency medicine, riding motorcycles, driving unusual vehicles, and even learning to fly aircraft all fit into the same philosophy of always being ready when someone needs help.

By the end of the drive, one thing had become obvious.

Whether people recognized the car from Batman or simply couldn’t believe what they were seeing, nobody could resist stopping to watch a 1,000HP Batmobile cruising through everyday traffic.

It was exactly the kind of reaction you’d expect from one of Hollywood’s most legendary vehicles just driving about.
