After marching through the streets of Tirana this evening, protesters also marched near Police Station No. 3, where they called for the release of those detained from the protest held in front of Parliament.
In this way, the 56th consecutive protest against the government has also ended.
Citizens reiterated their demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the removal of the government.
During the march, chants such as “New Albania”, “Rama resign”, “Government of crime” were heard, while protesters declared that they would not stop the rallies until their demands were met.
One of the main messages of the evening was the rejection of any dialogue with the prime minister. According to the protesters, they “will not give allegiance to a man who betrays Albania.”
Participants also appealed to the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK), demanding the investigation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the release of those detained during the protests.
“Investigate Rama, do your duty. Citizens are still being held at Police Station No. 3. We dedicate today’s march to them. Free the boys, free the girls,” said one of the protesters.
Organizers have announced that the protests will continue in the coming days, insisting that they will not retreat until their political demands are met.
