Bad news for Albania, what the Polish Federation decided about the stadium
Football authorities in Poland have decided that the “PGE Arena” stadium will remain covered, while Albania matches forces with Poland today at 20:45 in Warsaw.
The Secretary General of the Polish Football Federation, Lukasz Washowski, has confirmed that the stadium’s roof will remain closed during the World Cup play-off semi-final.
The stadium is expected to host 56,000 fans, of whom just over 3,000 will be Albanians.
This means that approximately 53,000 fans will be Polish, creating more favorable acoustics for the local players.
The players will not be affected by the weather conditions, while the atmosphere from the fans is expected to be lively.
This is an unusual case for the Albanian National Team, which, with the stadium covered, seeks qualification for the play-off final and dreams of participating in the 2026 World Cup.
