Thousands of citizens gathered again this Sunday in Tirana, on the 15th day of protests against the government, marching from Skanderbeg Square towards the Prime Minister’s Office and demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
With national flags and banners in their hands, protesters filled the boulevard in front of the government building, where they conveyed messages against the majority and shouted slogans such as “Rama resigns” and “The end has come.”
During the rally, there was no shortage of criticism of the opposition, while participants called for profound political and institutional changes in the country.
Some of the protesters also addressed the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK), calling for concrete actions in the fight against corruption and the investigation of officials suspected of violating the law.
“We are with you, do not be afraid,” was one of the messages directed at SPAK during the protest, as participants demanded that justice act independently and take action against politicians suspected of corruption.
